Unlike traditional actuators which typically have a port directly in the side of the cylinder, this manifold-mounted, spring return pneumatic cylinder has only a small, o-ring sealed air inlet in the face opposite the rod. Depending on your application, direct manifold mounting can have many advantages such as keeping airlines out of the workspace. Look at the sample video below. The airline connects directly to the manifold or structure and does not need to make direct contact with the actuator.
